Former Excelsior Springs resident jailed in Clay on multiple charges
LIBERTY – A former Excelsior Springs resident faces multiple felony charges in Clay and Platte counties involving the alleged spending of money he did not have at area businesses.
Joshua Edward McCoy, 31, 20023 N.E. 102nd St., Liberty, is being held in the Clay County Jail after failing to appear in court to face charges. Booking took place Feb. 9, detention information states.
McCoy has five cases pending against him in Clay County and one in Platte. Some cases contain multiple counts.
A Clay County grand jury indicted McCoy. He faces these charges involving finanicial institutions and businesses…
• Felony tampering in the first degree. On Nov. 7, 2019, McCoy “knowingly and without consent of the owner possessed an automobile, to wit: a 2020 Jeep Wrangler,” court information states. A conviction could result in up to seven years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
