State to check flow of stimulus dollars
A stimulus funds hearing is planned for September, and perhaps another one for October, state Rep. Doug Richey told city leaders Aug. 1 at the Hall of Waters.
“We just want to make sure that the projects we are most interested in that we’re able to see adequate movement, in terms of getting those dollars released in a timely fashion, so we can get some things done, as far as … flooding issues in downtown Excelsior, as well as (the) Hall of Waters (are concerned),” Richey said during a regular City Council meeting.
Richey – who represents District 38 (soon to be District 39), which includes Excelsior Springs – hopes to see efficient money movement, he said.
Molly McGovern, city manager, offered to send Richey a copy of Excelsior Springs’ application paperwork, “if that’s beneficial.”
