State grants city funds for reclamation projects
Missouri Department of Natural Resources recently awarded Excelsior Springs a grant for $3,891,114 to be used to replace a bridge located on North Main Street along the Dry Fork River and for rehabilitation of the “old laundry mat” lot.
In addition, the city will allocate $973,386 through a Capital Improvement Program towards the projects.
The city obtained a preliminary engineering report with cost analysis and construction avenues during the initial grant application process and is currently seeking bids from engineering firms to design and mock-up improvements, along with completing any requested certifications to finalize receipt of the grant.
Upon hiring an engineer, the city will seek opinions from the community and will then select from a variety of improvement alternatives to be completed at the sites.
The city will release additional information as it becomes available on its website, https://cityofesmo. com.
