Svoboda remains dedicated after 14 years
After first joining the city of Excelsior Springs as a court administrator 14 years ago, Taran Svoboda is still finding new ways to serve the community she calls home.Svoboda, now the assistant director of administration for Excelsior Springs Parks, Recreation and Community Center, began her journey in 2011 after spending nine years with the Clay County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.“I had been working for the Clay County Prosecuting Attorney for nine years and was happy to see something in my town open up,” said Svoboda. “The transition felt like a natural progression in my career.”Though she didn’t grow up in Excelsior Springs, Svoboda emphasized it quickly became home.“Working for the city of Excelsior Springs has been such a great experience,” stated Svoboda. “Most of my closest friends in life have started as co-workers.
