A jury trial has been scheduled in the case of Gary Dean Tackett Jr.,who pled not guilty to several charges, including statutory sodomy, during an arraignment hearing last year.The 38-yearold Excelsior Springs resident is currently being held on a $100,000 cash bond at the Clay County Detention Center. He faces two felony charges, including statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy involving a person less than 12 years of age and fourthdegree child molestation involving a child less than 17 years old, with the offender being more than four years older.Tackett recently attended a trial setting hearing before Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge Karen Krauser. During this hearing, Krauser scheduled a one-day jury trial to begin at 9 a.m. on Sept. 29.
