For the second time this year, a vehicle went airborne and crashed through the roof of the Clay-Ray Veterans Hall.On the morning of May 28, a middle-aged man, later identified as Excelsior Springs resident Corrie Wright, was injured when his vehicle left the roadway and became lodged in the roof at 208 Veterans Memorial Drive in Excelsior Springs. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital, according to Excelsior Springs Police Lt. Ryan Dowdy. Speed was a contributing factor, but the full cause remains under investigation.No further details have been released as of press time.The February 15 crash at the same location involved a 22-year-old Kansas man, Calen D. Hollis, who was allegedly fleeing law enforcement at speeds over 100 mph with two 13-year-old girls in the vehicle.
