Nickols, 34, is facing two felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia for amphetamine or methamphetamine.On November 3, 2023, Nickols was charged and then released on her own recognizance on November 20, 2023. She had attended all hearings until the most recent one, which was for an initial arraignment. Nickols’ public defender, Rebecca Abeln, requested a continuance when her client did not appear, but Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Kevin L.
