Billy George Phillips of Big Timber passed away peacefully on Jan. 11, 2023, at the age of 80 at home, surrounded by his children.

Bill was born on Aug. 20, 1942, in Dupont, Wash., to Edith and Raymond Phillips. After serving time in the U.S. Navy, he met and married Lillian Arnett and had two boys, Doug and Steve. Then later, he met the love of his life, Nancy Jenkins; and had three girls, Kim, Dianna and Cheryl.

Bill loved fishing, camping and spending time with his family. Some of his favorite stories were fishing trips he took with his best friends, Mike and Mary Phillips, catching his favorite fish on the Snake River. Bill was a hard worker and an excellent carpenter and was a perfectionist at every project he tackled.

Bill is survived by his brothers, Dean, Jean and Bobby Phillips; nephew, Mike (Mary) Phillips; sons, Doug and Steve; daughters, Dianna Dammann and Cheryl (Clark) Garton; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Edith; brother, Buzz Phillips; daughter, Kim Phillips; and wife, Nancy Phillips.

Cremation has taken place, and a family reunion will be held later.
