Cheryl Ann Carter, 66, Excelsior Springs, passed away unexpectedly May 16, 2025, at her home. A memorial gathering is planned for 4-6 p.m. Friday, June 13, at Hidden Valley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, 5951 E. Missouri Highway 10. Cheryl was born Dec. 17, 1958, to Lloyd and Elinor (Carr) Carter. Cheryl enjoyed being around family and friends, and spending meaningful time with her boyfriend. She loved watching her favorite TV shows.

She worked for 28 years for Gilmore Manufacturing, where she held many positions.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Carter.

Cheryl is survived by her daughters, Chelsea Hanshaw and Amy Thoeni; grandchildren, Oliver and Riley Jr. Hanshaw, and Lakota and Hayden Thoeni; niece, Laurie Carter; great-niece, Kiera Hunt; and great-nephew, Godric Hunt.
