Dora Ann Lancaster passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at Liberty Hospital. Her eldest son, Wayne, was at her side.

Dora was born Feb. 29, 1936, in Marshall to Marie and Ellis Sampson.

In 1954, she graduated from Liberty High School. She married Arthur Donald Lancaster on Oct. 17, 1953, and dedicated her life to raising and cherishing her five children.

Don and Dora enjoyed 73 years of marriage, an accomplishment we can all aspire to reach.

When Dora wasn’t at home, tending to her children or grandchildren, she could be found on the dance floor at a square dancing event; on a boat or dock fishing until the sun went down; or in her pool, laughing with her grandchildren. She was accompanied by Don during those activities, as the two shared every experience.

Dora was proceeded in death by her parents, the aforementioned Marie and Elis Sampson; brother, Jay Sampson; sister, Mary Drew; and daughter, Cindy Brown.

She is survived by her husband Donald; sister, Daisy Ealey; and children, Wayne Lancaster (Josie), Danny Lancaster (Elaine), Steve Lancaster (Montanna) and Kathy Stewart (Scott). Dora also leaves behind 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five greatgreat- grandchildren, all of whom will remember her fondly and often.

Her legacy of family traditions, stories and memories will live on through those who were touched by her loving hands.
