Gladys M. Crapson of Excelsior Springs passed away June 6, 2020, at the age of 93 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Gladys was born in Norwich, Kansas, to Floyd and Othel See on Aug. 1, 1926. Her family members were migrant workers and went to several different farms to help with the harvest.

On Jan. 21, 1946, she was married to Gene Crapson. They later divorced. From this union, they welcomed three children: Elizabeth “Ann,” Carolyn “Marie” and Ernest “Dwayne.” She was also mom, grandma and granny to several others who knew her.

She loved to quilt. She has several quilts in other parts of the world. You would walk in to see her sitting in her chair, quilting away. She made quilts for several people in the area, as well as several for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Francis See, Loren See, Dale See and Curly See; one sister, Pauline Chaney; a daughter, Ann McRorey; a grandson, Jason McRorey; and great-grandson, Jack Christopher McRorey.

She is survived by a son, Dwayne Crapson (Michelle) of the home; daughter, Marie Rose of Excelsior Springs; granddaughter, Susan Harris (Clint) of rural Orrick; grandson, Christopher McRorey (Jill) of Liberty; grandson, Sean Rose (Katie) of Liberty; seven great-grandchildren, Amanda Simmons (Jason), Brandon Harris, Courtney Harris, Lily McRorey, Morgan McRorey, Colby McRorey and Beau Chappel; and two great-greatgrandchildren, Ella and Jensen, with one more due in January.

In the 1980s, she owned and operated the Junction Cafe in Lawson, Missouri, where she met many friends who, to this day, still call her their friend. She also worked as a cashier at the Mill Inn, where she knew everyone. Because of this, going to the store with her lasted all day. She always spoke with everyone. She was loved by many.

There will be no services at this time. Celebration of life service/dinner at a later date.

Arrangements: Bross & Spidle Funeral Home.
