Janet (Hyder) Ziefle, 72, passed away peacefully March 27, 2021.

Janet was born Sept. 10, 1948, to Charles and Cleta (Dixon) Hyder in Polo.

Janet married her love, John Ziefle, Dec. 28, 1984. In 1988, after selling their many businesses in Kansas City, they built and started a dairy farm in Stet. Together, they also began many other endeavors, including: Richmond Rental, Main Street Floral, Richmond Sinclair, Rustle Up Cafe, and Stet Tire & Feed.

In 2013, they decided to retire. Retirement life for the avid entrepreneurs meant working and volunteering as Blue Springs Campground hosts and being snowbirds during the winter. Her favorite place to visit was Casa Grande, Arizona.

Janet was a compassionate and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was her entire world.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Cleta Hyder; and brother, Bruce Hyder.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, John; daughter, Stacie Russell; grandchildren, Kassie Jo (Jesse) Utt, Steele Russell and Gunner Russell; great-grandchild, Teigen Jo Utt; son, Kyle (Katrina) Black; grandchildren, Emalee, Haleigh, Kylea and Maylee Black; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles “Eddy” (Paula) Hyder and Gregory (Julie) Hyder; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Janet’s family will have a celebration of life at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at 22101 S.W. Woods Chapel Road, Shelter House 2, in Blue Springs. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to PayPal.me/janetmemorialbench for a park bench in her honor.
