Allegations suggest no need for tougher voting regulations

JACK MILES Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft sent out a notice that, in the entire state, following the November 2020 election, the only people being reviewed were those who had allegedly committed voter fraud. Ashcroft did not phrase that announcement like I did. He puffed up the news to make it sound more ominous. But, hey, I am not impressed. We are talking about just two people out of hundreds of thousands. Also, there have been no convictions. There have been no formal charges. Ashcroft simply referred the pair to the St. Charles County prosecutor for possible criminal prosecution. Looking at the big picture, if the St. Charles residents – Matthew Lindsey, 49; and Chris Ackerman, 63 – committed voter fraud by casting ballot...
