Clay County dispatch center recognized with national accreditation

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded national accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) in the Communications program.This required the 911 Communications Center to meet more than 200 standards in accordance with professionally recognized criteria for excellence in management and service delivery.“Our dispatch staff has done an outstanding job ensuring our agency is following the best practices available to provide the best possible service to our community,” said Sheriff Will Akin. “They are the very first responders and this accreditation is a testament to their professionalism and dedication.”Following a multi-year, self-assessment phase and a meticulous site-based assessment of community engagement, policy, procedures, equipment and facilities by CALEA assessors, sheriff’s office dispatch leaders and accreditation staff attended the CALEA conference in Tucson, Ariz. last we...
