Fear of growing old
Feeling “old” is a very personal experience, and growing old seems to be everyone’s worst nightmare. The media is constantly pushing for something anti-aging and how to feel young. As becoming an adult and growing up is a natural part of our life cycle – I tend to imagine “feeling young” is a state of mind.
Age and time have been at the forefront of my mind since last weekend was my five-year high school reunion. Hey, I know you’re thinking “Sophia, five years isn’t even a long time” or “Sophia, you’re in your early twenties, what do you know about ‘aging?’” All valid questions, and my answer would be “Well, I have to have a fiveyear reunion before my 30th one.”
It hasn’t felt like much had changed in that time apart. There are the obvious – people get married, high school relations drift, people have children, graduate college or trade schools, move or get new jobs.
For the most part, though, everyone was the same....
