Learning from the young
Every day, children are all around us. They explore the world around them and share their encounters through imagination, creativity and ingenuity. Oftentimes, children are experiencing the world for the first time; much of the time, these children are accompanied by an adult trying to teach them the ways of the world through their own lens.
What about how adults can learn from a child? Do people ever take the time to peer into the human lens of a child and discover the pure adventure that children have for the world around them?
This girl does, and it’s the best moment of my day. I will ask my children how their day was and listen.
I don’t nod off when they speak or think about something else when they are talking to me. I try to listen and understand them. The tone in their voice, the excitement about a new friend or something they haven’t seen before.
It’s an exciting time reliving life through the scope of the part of your soul walking outside your body.
