In light of National Women’s History Month, a flashback to the 1920s – when life was changing for women. Not only did women get the right to vote – they were also able to start to work. With new fashion trends such as knee-high dresses and pants, women then paved the way for women in the present. Amendment 19 was passed on Aug. 18, 1920, granting women the right to vote. It was one of the biggest milestones for women. Was the right to vote just handed to them? No, they had to fight for it. They fought the only way that they could, through protests and movements. According to history.com, one movement was called the Women’s Suffrage Movement. The Women’s Suffrage Movement was a combination of speeches, signed petitions and marching in parades, as well as challenging and practicing civil disobedience. Respect from the government and privileged men came along with the right to vote. A main example of this would be when state marriages were starting to be viewed as equal partnerships…
