Split triangular, dual victory part of boys wrestling week

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The boys in black and gold crammed a triangular, a dual and a two-day tournament that produced two champions into last week’s wrestling schedule. The triangular was Jan. 18 at Warrensburg. Excelsior Springs went 1-1, crushing Warrensburg 69-6 and falling to Odessa 51-25. Freshman Dominic Betts opened the Warrensburg dual with a third-period fall over Jayden Welch at 113 pounds. Senior Landen Davis then pinned Mason Fritsch at 132 in the first period, followed by Ayden Dolt picking up a first-period win by fall over Aiden Walker at 152. Warrensburg was open in all the other weight classes except for 170. Against Odessa, freshman Anthony Circo dropped the first match at 182 by fall to Blake Gillespie. Daniel Bischoff defeated sophomore JB Prestia with a first-period fall at 182. Freshman Justin Wright lost by fall to Aiden Agcopra at 285. Wyatt Shipman lost at 106, followed by a loss by Betts at 113. Freshman Ryne Marcum picked up Excelsior Springs’ first win…
