ES football summertime training underway

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Summertime, or offseason, football training is underway at Excelsior Springs High School. The Tigers began offseason training on May 31 with summer weights and conditioning work. Summertime action will include a team camp this weekend, with eight other schools coming to Excelsior Springs. The full-contact camp will include Affton, a St. Louis metro area school; Fayette; Jefferson City; KIPP Academy, a Kansas City-based charter school; Oak Park of Kansas City; Princeton; South Harrison; and William Chrisman, an Independence-based program. From there, the Tigers will continue working against other schools June 14, 21 and 28 in Kearney’s 7-on-7 league. They will then take a week off the first week in July to celebrate Independence Day.
