Boys netters extend dual streak to three, then fall

Excelsior Springs’ longest winning streak this season in varsity boys tennis duals ended last week. Following an April 20 road win over Winnetonka, the Tigers picked up victories against Odessa April 24 and Fort Osage April 26, both at Excelsior Springs. Their three-match winning streak then ended April 27 with a loss at Kearney. The local netters swept Odessa 9-0. Seniors Carter Pitts and Colby Mueller claimed the No. 1 doubles match 8-2. Senior Lee Mueller and sophomore Austin Collins breezed to an 8-0 win in the second doubles spot. Seniors Matthew Rebello and Ethan Sams won the No. 3 match 8-5. In singles action, Pitts cruised to an 8-0 victory. Lee Mueller won the No. 2 match 8-2, and Colby Mueller won the No. 3 match 8-1. Collins won 8-2 in the fourth position.
