An Excelsior Springs four-year letterwinner is heading to college to continue her softball career and education. Bailey Carder recently confirmed she’ll attend Kansas City, Kan., Community College (KCKCC), where she’ll pitch for the Blue Devils, who play in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference and are affiliated with the National Junior College Athletic Association. “I wanted to go play softball at the college level and the coach was very encouraging and that is why I chose to go there,” Carder said. For Carder, the decision is part of a journey that began at age 4, when she began playing softball through Excelsior Springs Parks and Recreation. Eventually, she moved on to play for the competitive team the Illusion Club, which allowed her to travel to tournaments throughout the Midwest. Carder, who’ll graduate from high school in May, played her final season for Excelsior Springs in 2023. She and her Tigers teammates went 11-14. Carder credits Excelsior Springs…
