Chappel to play golf for CMU
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Hope Chappel will be an Eagle in a few months, but she will remain a Tiger at heart.
The Excelsior Springs senior has signed a letter of intent to continue her education and golf career at Central Methodist University in Fayette.
“Golf has given me so many opportunities and I want to thank everyone in the community for showing me nothing but support,” Chappel said. “I will forever be proud to be a Tiger!”
Chappel is a four-year golfer at Excelsior Springs and a two-time state qualifier. She finished 43rd in Class 1 her junior year and 31st in Class 2 her senior year. She was a two-time Missouri River Valley Conference individual champion and led the Tigers to a conference team championship last fall.
Chappel spent her high school career being coached by David Stalder, who had great praise for her.
