KEEP IT GOINGExcelsior Springs was looking to extend a winning streak this week in varsity boys soccer.The Tigers had won two straight entering Wednesday’s home meeting with Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division and Missouri Highway 92 rival Kearney. The first victory occurred Oct. 2, when the boys edged visiting Smithville 2-1 in double overtime. They followed that by bouncing Raytown South 8-0 Monday on the road.END OF STREAKExcelsior Springs’ longest winning streak this season in varsity volleyball ended last week.On Oct. 2, the girls fell to visiting Smithville 3-0 in Blue Division play, dropping the first set of the best-of-five competition 25-8, the second 25-13 and the finale 25-15. The defeat snapped the Tigers’ streak of three straight match victories – all of them by sweeps.The Tigers dropped their second straight Monday, falling to St. Pius X of Kansas City 3-1 on the road....
