THE FIELD IS SET Varsity girls coach JD Biermann and varsity boys coach Ian Burch know who their respective teams will face when Excelsior Springs opens the Class 4 District 14 Tournament next week in Knob Noster.Biermann and the Excelsior Springs girls will face Richmond at 5:30 p.m. March 2. The victor will advance to face top-seeded Oak Grove at 5:30 p.m. March 4 in the semifinals of the postseason, singleelimination basketball tournament.Birch and the Excelsior Springs boys will face Odessa at 7 p.m. March 3, with the winner advancing to face second-seeded Marshall at 7 p.m. March 5.The girls will play Richmond for the second time this season.
