WINNING STREAK

Opponents haven’t found ways to defeat Excelsior Springs in varsity boys soccer lately.

The Tigers were on a five-game winning streak entering this week. The streak included a 4-0 Sept. 24 road victory over Chillicothe in Midland Empire Conference play.

The Excelsior Springs boys had three games scheduled for this week – Monday against Oak Grove and Tuesday against Bishop LeBlond, both at Tiger Stadium; and Thursday against Benton in St. Joseph.

TOP 20 Allison Deere rounded out the top 20 on the individual leaderboard at the Chillicothe Invitational.

Deere, an Excelsior Springs sophomore, secured her 20th-place finish at the Sept. 24 tournament at Green Hills Golf Course by shooting a 102 (+30) for her 18hole, par-72 round. She shot a 52 for her first nine holes and a 50 on her back nine.

Seniors Reaghan Lawrence and Ella Edwards also represented Excelsior Springs at Chillicothe. Lawrence placed 33rd individually, shooting a 112 (+40). Edwards shot a 128 (+56), finishing 51st.
