WINNING BIGExcelsior Springs is romping past its opponents on its latest varsity baseball winning streak.The baseballers had won four straight entering Wednesday’s road meeting with Smithville, outscoring their opponents 44-3 during that stretch. They started the streak April 29 with an 8-2 victory over Winnetonka in Kansas City.The ballclub then posted back-to-back 10-0 routs, downing Cameron April 30 and Grandview May 1. Both games were at Excelsior Springs.Excelsior Springs continued the streak Monday by hammering Raytown South 16-1 on the road. The 15-run win put the baseballers at 21-4 overall and 5-1 in the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division entering their meeting with Smithville.Excelsior Springs is slated to finish this week Friday by hosting Kearney in Blue Division play.
