Coach sees progress in offense during NKC loss
Excelsior Springs made strides on offense during its 48-10 Sept. 12 road loss to North Kansas City, according to Tigers coach Jake Danneman.“We had a couple nine-, 10-, 11-play drives,” Danneman said Monday. “We’re moving the chains and we’re doing stuff and we’re keeping that high-powered offense of Northtown off the field. So the offense had some success.”One of Excelsior Springs’drives resulted in a 22-yard, first-quarter field goal by Gauge Facciuto. Another drive resulted in a fourth-quarter TD run by Nick Mubanga, followed by Facciuto’s extra-point kick.“It was good to see him get in there and showcase what he can do,” Danneman said. “He’s a talented running back.
