Dolt helps Team Missouri win all-star wrestling dual

KANSAS CITY – Technically, Ayden Dolt’s high school boys wrestling career did not end with his championship victory in February at the Class 2 state tournament in Columbia. Dolt, an Excelsior Springs senior, was selected to take part in the annual MO-KAN Metro Classic, held March 8 at Avila University, where he was matched up against Johnny Cash Thomas of Olathe South in the 152-pound weight class. Thomas was the Kansas Class 6A 152 state runner-up and finished the season 42-9. Dolt opened with a takedown, then drove Thomas out of bounds. After conceding a point to Thomas by going neutral when he had the advantage, Dolt quickly produced a snapdown move on Thomas’ head and slid around him to score another two points.
