ES boys netters ‘willing to learn’ as season approaches
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Excelsior Springs boys tennis team looks to work off some rust after losing the 2020 season to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Missing out on last year will have a great impact on how we start the season,” coach Richie Marsh said. “We have a good group of kids who are willing to learn and have made it exciting to work with so far this spring.”
Marsh, who is his 10th season of leading the program, has a group of 17 athletes competing for court time. He lost nine seniors to graduation last year, meaning fans will see mostly a new group of varsity players.
Senior Antonio Martinez is the only netter with varsity experience. He will look to secure the No. 1 singles spot.
