The Tigers have their first dual win this season in varsity girls tennis. Excelsior Springs got the “W” Sept. 8 at Belton. The victory followed back-toback losses last week. The first loss, 5-4, was Sept. 6 against visiting Fort Osage of Independence. Seniors Anna Selby and Lauren Mueller cruised 8-1 in No. 1 doubles. Senior Lana Nunnenkamp and sophomore Megan Riegel fell in No. 2 doubles 8-1. Sophomores Malaya Tedesco and Shelby Stodden fell in the final doubles match 8-3. Selby also won the No. 1 singles match 8-3. “It was great to see Anna come away with a win tonight,” coach Richie Marsh said. “She goes up against the best player from every school, and even though her win/loss record may not show it, she has been playing well for us.” Nunnenkamp dropped the No. 2 singles match 8-1.
