Football isn’t the only sport at Excelsior Springs that’ll get underway next week.

The girls golf program is slated to open its season Aug. 28 with the Savage Shootout Par-3 Tournament, hosted by Savannah. Other competitions scheduled for early in the season include a Sept. 2 quadrangular at Shirkey Golf Course, hosted by Richmond; and a tournament Sept. 3 in St. Joseph, hosted by St. Joe Central.
