Excelsior Springs cross country coach Stephen Houck and his Tigers won’t have to leave town for their next meet.The Tigers are set to run again Oct. 8 at the Excelsior Springs Cross Country Invitational at the local golf course. The meet follows a string of road trips, including two last week – one for the Duane Kimble Invitational, held Sept. 24 in St. Joseph; one for the Gans Creek Classic, held Sept. 28 in Columbia.Mac Morris led the Excelsior Springs varsity boys at St. Joseph, placing sixth overall by finishing the 3.1-mile race at Hyde Park in 18 minutes, 45 seconds. The senior was one of two Excelsior Springs boys who placed in the top 10.
