A look back: Excelsior Springs boys basketball
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Many sports and other activities depend on getting into a rhythm.
The Tigers struggled to find their rhythm this season in varsity boys basketball.
Excelsior Springs finished 1-14, as the Tigers went through multiple team quarantines because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Tigers had three practices before the first quarantine struck, putting the team at home for 14 days. Once they returned to practice, they opened with losses to Richmond and Lexington before the second quarantine struck in early December, preventing them from participating in the Husker Classic in Higginsville.
The Tigers returned to action again briefly, playing in one game of the Missouri River Valley Conference West Tournament, a Dec. 18 loss to Clinton. They were then out of action for the next few weeks because of the winter break and another quarantine that hit at the start of the new year, which kept them idle until mid-January.
