Scrivener takes 15th at Richmond

Gabby Scrivener had what she considered an “O.K.ish day” when she helped represent Excelsior Springs Sept. 17 in varsity girls golf at the Richmond Invitational.With her “O.K.-ish day,” Scrivener led Excelsior Springs by shooting a 91 (+19) for her 18-hole, par-72 round. That score put her at 15th individually, Richmond coach Courtney Sisson confirmed.“I went into it thinking the course was going to be really hard,” the senior said shortly after finishing her round at Shirkey Golf Course. “And it was actually not terrible. I was able to hit my driver a little bit better today – still going a little bit high, but it was at least going straight. Some of the holes that had water on them were definitely tricky.”Water hazards weren’t the only challenge Scrivener and the other golfers faced.“The ground was really dry, so it would roll far,” she said. “Sometimes, that’s good.
