Tigers set times, distances, heights at time trials
PLATTE CITY – No medals were awarded March 22, when Excelsior Springs opened its varsity track and field season at the Platte County Time Trials.
But if they had been, the Tigers would have taken home their share of them.
“We had some great positives at this time trials,” coach Jonah Albertson said.
Senior Donovan Paige had the top boys 200-meter time, 24.82 seconds. His time of 12 seconds in the 100 was the third fastest.
Junior Gavin Wilmes had the fastest boys 110 high hurdles time, a personalbest 17.48. Wilmes had the No. 2 300 intermediate hurdles time, 45.69.
Junior Dalton Layton cleared a meethigh 1.72 meters in the boys high jump. His distance in the triple jump, 11.09, was the third longest.
In other boys results, junior Chance Moreland cleared 1.62 in the high jump and junior Braxton Moffett cleared 1.52. Layton was the No. 3 jumper in the triple jump, going 11.09; f...
