Aging Well Task Force discusses social wellness

The Aging Well Task Force in Excelsior Springs gathered recently to discuss the upcoming Silver Senior Prom and the idea of implementing a technology assistance program for those who want to learn more about new-age tech and want to work on social wellness. According to the University of New Hampshire, social wellness is the practice of building and engaging in trusting, respectful and authentic relationships by balancing social and personal time, having fun, and creating a supportive network of family and friends. Laura Mize, neighborhood specialist and task force member, explained that both a tech education program and the upcoming spring prom are designed to address social wellness for people in the community. The Silver Prom being planned by the task force will take place May 4 at the high school commons and bring people together in the community while playing music through the decades.
