The fate of an Excelsior Springs woman facing numerous felony charges will be determined by a jury of her peers, as a 2024 trial date has been set. Desiree A. Alexander, 36, appeared in person while on bond with her Public Defender Rebecca M. Abelm in front of Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Kevin L. Walden on Sept. 6. Alexander faces nine felony charges and one misdemeanor charge, including three counts of first-degree rape or attempted rape; two counts of abuse or neglect of a child; first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy; incest; firstdegree sexual abuse; first-degree attempted sexual abuse and sexual misconduct. “My client is on an anklet (ankle monitor), ready for trial,” stated Abelm.
