The Excelsior Springs School District has officially announced the arrival and dismissal procedures for the new Lewis Elementary school, which is set to open when students return from winter break on Jan. 13.To ensure a smooth process, the district has outlined specific arrival and dismissal procedures for students, aiming to enhance safety and efficiency as they adjust to the new environment.Families who are dropping off students should use Chillicothe Street, near Wabash, to access the car ride loop.“Please drive around our access road to the student drop off point and students will come in through the entrance by the gym,” said Lewis Elementary Principal Dr. Jill Comstock. “Once you’ve dropped off your student, please complete the loop and exit using the same access road as you entered.”Students who walk home will be escorted by a teacher to the corner of South Kansas City Avenue and Leavenworth Street.
