Bass granted continuance in alleged murder case
Keith Bass II was granted a continuance until 9 a.m. April 20, in the case of the alleged murder of Theresa Bass and attempted murder of Bobby Neal Jr.
Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge Shane T. Alexander granted the continuance due to good cause being shown.
Bass, who continues to be held on $1 million bond cash or surety, appeared in court for the hearing. His public defender, Tracy A. McFadin, was also present.
He faces four felony charges, including: murder, first degree; two counts of armed criminal action; assault, first degree or attempt, serious physical injury or special victim.
At around 12:11 a.m. on Sept. 7, 2022, Excelsior Springs Police officers responded to a 911 call about a shooting. Theresa Bass and Neal were found with gunshot wounds at the scene and taken to an area hospital. Theresa Bass died around 12:35 a.m. and Neal was listed in critical condition.
