The Excelsior Springs Parks and Recreation Department has a slate of activities planned to help observe July as National Parks and Recreation Month. Recurring activities include toddler swimming for ages 2-5 8-11 a.m. Tuesdays, Art in the Park 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesdays at Century Park and Storytime in the Park 10:30-11:30 a.m. Fridays. A summer speed and agility class for ages 6-14 is planned for 3-4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesday, starting on July 10. Stand-alone activities the rest of this month include Movie in the Park, scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday at Carolyn Schutte Pocket Park. Popsicles at the Pad is planned for July 11 at the Rainbow Splash Pad, starting at 1 p.m. and continuing while popsicles last. In addition, Family Nerf Wars is planned for 6 p.m. July 13 at the community center, followed by the Storybook Trail on July 14.
