The Clay County Prosecutor’s Office is taking the initiative to combat traffic accidents related to intoxication.Clay County Prosecuting Attorney Zach Thompson, alongside multiple area law enforcement leaders, announced a new ‘No Refusal’ policy at a recent press conference.The newly implemented policy is designed to tackle the serious issues associated with driving while intoxicated, which has led to a significant number of accidents resulting in both injuries and fatalities. In response to this growing concern, the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office is taking proactive steps to bolster support for law enforcement officers who deal directly with these cases on the front lines.As part of this initiative, prosecutors will now assist in obtaining search warrants, allowing law enforcement to collect blood samples from individuals who refuse to provide a breath or blood sample following their arrest for driving while intoxicated (DWI).
