City approves plat for Clacton Estates
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – A new subdivision is in the works.
Known as Clacton Estates, the single-family subdivision will be built near Kearney and Wornall roads; west of Cornerstone Elementary School, now under construction; and east of the Stone Crossing and Cherry Hills subdivisions, minutes from the Planning and Zoning Commission’s Dec. 28 meeting state.
As stated in Planning Consultant Doug Hermes’ Dec. 29 memo to Excelsior Springs city leaders, a cul-de-sac will run into the subdivision – Larkspur Street. Larkspur will be connected to five of the subdivision’s eight houses, the memo states.
The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved Brad and Brenda Eales’ request to develop the initial plat at Clacton Estates.
The City Council on Jan. 4 approved the request as a city ordinance via Zoom. Brad Eales, who is a council member, abstained for conflict-of-interest reasons.
