Excelsior Springs officials are seeing visions become reality as they announced the sale of property that will be “Villas at Golf Hill” subdivision. Paradise Development LLC purchased lots 1-22 for the development. Earlier this year, Doug Hermes, a city planning consultant, presented a consideration amending the final development approval for the subdivision to allow permanent basketball goals and the development of inground pools, which were previously prohibited. The lots will also allow a new standard for exterior design and eliminate the requirement that all windows for the construction of new homes have basic white framing and gutters that match the trim of the houses. The exterior design of the subdivision will include a mixture of stone, brick, stucco and smart trim with side and rear elevations to be stucco while maintaining an earth-tone pallet. Once the council agreed to the amendment, they voted in favor of the consideration, and the sale became final on Sept. 6. …
