City council hears resident complaints

The lack of body cameras for Excelsior Springs Police Department (ESPD) officers amid reports of excessive force was a topic addressed by a local resident during a recent city council. Resident Morgan Mihalko took the floor to express his profound unease about the issue. “I’ve had several incidents with ESPD where things have happened and I am very concerned that they do not have body cameras,” said Mihalko. “On May 1, I had an officer assault me in my home while three other officers stood there and watched.
