City hospital issues 536 vaccinations in two days
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The hospital “had a fabulous week,” CEO Kristen DeHart told city leaders during a City Council work session March 12.
That week, the Excelsior Springs Hospital distributed 536 doses of COVID-19 vaccine “to community members” in two days – 267 doses March 9 and 269 doses March 10, DeHart reported. In addition, the state had allocated the hospital 200 doses of the Moderna vaccine, she said, projecting there would be 1,300 total doses delivered by March 19, “with more to come.”
The makeshift vaccination clinic established by the hospital at the former offices of Howard Pickett, M.D., on Jesse James Road “is working very well,” DeHart said.
DeHart reported further that the hospital operated smoothly while the vaccinations were administered.
“We’ve had a very solid month of March and everything’s well,” she said.
