EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Students at Excelsior Springs High will have some new course choices when the next school year begins. On Jan. 11, the Board of Education approved the 2021-2022 High School Career and Educational Planning Guide submitted by Principal Christen Everett. Eight classes have been added, two have been dropped and a foreign language course has been rebranded. “My goal has just been trying to clean up the course guide – kind of on both ends – giving some more advanced options for our upper-level kids,” Everett said during the board’s Zoom meeting. “I feel like, when I started this, we didn’t have a ton of options for those upperlevel kids.” Additions for upper-level students include Oral Communication 104 and ALH 106 Medical Terminology, dualcredit courses offered through Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph.
