Clay County recently announced they are in the comprehensive planning process and will host a series of open house events for area residents interested in participating in the process. According to a recent press release, the comprehensive plan’s goal is to provide the community with a compelling plan to guide the decision-making for the county’s development process. The Comprehensive Plan is for the county to provide a framework for the future planning and growth of the unincorporated portion of the county with collaboration from local municipalities and jurisdictions within the area. The plan will focus on land use, transportation, parks and trails, development patterns, housing types, infrastructure and economic development process, and the public is encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas about what they would like to see incorporated into the plan.
