Cline welcomed as new ESFD Assistant Chief

Excelsior Springs is gaining an experienced employee and instilling confidence in the local first responders. Joe Cline has accepted the position of Assistant Fire Chief at Excelsior Springs Fire Department (ESFD) and started earlier this week. The name may sound familiar to community members, as Cline has been an officer with the Excelsior Springs Police Department (ESPD) for the past seven years. However, he recently resigned from the police department because he was not allowed to simultaneously hold two different positions within the city. “Sergeant Cline has been a tremendous asset to not only the police department but the Excelsior Springs community as well,” stated ESPD Lieutenant Ryan Dowdy. “Although ESPD is sad to see him go, we are excited for his next chapter as he has always had a commitment to public safety.
