Excelsior Springs families will have no shortage of ways to celebrate this July as the city’s Parks and Recreation and Community Center Department kicks off an ambitious slate of free activities to mark National Parks and Recreation Month.With 27 events planned in nearly every corner of town, organizers hope to inspire more connection, joy and community pride than ever before.Each summer, the department has expanded its offerings, but staff noted this year’s celebration represents the biggest effort yet to create inclusive, nocost programs for all ages.“Each year, as our events continue to grow, so does our desire to build on that momentum and offer even more to our community,” said Recreation Coordinator Alexis Blankenship.“Our goal is to expand opportunities for connection, joy and lasting memories.
