EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Residents have a new process for requesting utility bill adjustments. The City Council agreed to change the process May 17. Finance Director Vonda Floyd told city leaders residents must submit a form, “instead of just calling and being able to do it in that manner.” “And this goes into exactly what our expectations are and what they can expect from us, so it’s a very defined line,” Floyd said. “So that way, it’ll be recorded, and it’ll also give our residents a little bit more confidence in the city’s practices. No question as to what we’re doing.” With council approval, Floyd planned to make the form available at City Hall and online, she said. “Or we can email it to them, if they call,” Floyd said. Evidence of a leak and repair must be submitted. Also, the city may conduct a confirmation inspection of the leak’s location and examine other issues. “If an adjustment is deemed appropriate, the bill will be reduced to the customer’s previous three-month average…
